FAQ - Our Lead-Installer Jamie Sheds Some Light.

Tubs & Showers

Q. Why do I need tempered glass?

A. If your glass product cracks or breaks, tempered glass will shatter into small pebbled fragments and tend to hold together, instead of sharp jagged shards scattering throughout a room. Tempered glass is required by law for all doors, enclosures and shelves in or surrounding hot tubs, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, bathtubs and showers.

Q. How long will it take to get my new shower enclosure?

A. Typically, 7 to 10 days from measurement to installation. Any specialty glass or hardware may take longer for us to obtain, but it is our goal to keep the wait-time to a minimum.

Q. What are the advantages of a frameless door or enclosure?

A. Frameless glass is a smart investment. Because there are fewer opportunities for water, soap, and minerals to collect, your frameless door or enclosure will last far longer than a traditionally framed unit. You'll instantly see your cleaning time and efforts drastically reduced. Aesthetically speaking, frameless units add the right amount of shine while letting your beautiful tile and fixtures take center stage.

Mirrors & Shelves

Q. Do you supply mirrors to hide my flatscreen TV?

A. A popular trend has been to mount framed two-way mirror in front of a flat-screen televisions. Your TV, however, must be capable of producing a very bright picture. Also, the image tends to be clearer when your room's lights are dimmed. Another alternative is to install a regular mirror or framed artwork on a sliding track or pair of hinged doors. We can help you design the best solution for your space.

Q. How do you frame extra large mirrors?

A. The best way to frame an over-sized mirror, such as a bathroom vanity mirror, is to first nail up a frame. Then professionally template & adhere the mirror within that frame. We offer a wide variety of mouldings for this application and have a complete carpentry shop at our disposal.

Q. Can you frame mirrors and artwork?

A. Yes. We have a fully operational carpentry shop at our disposal and a wide variety of frames and mouldings to choose from. However, we do not matte, mount, or preserve artwork. This being said, we will be happy to coordinate our glass services with your professional picture framer.

Q. Do I need tempered glass for shelves and mirrors?

A. If the mirror is completely adhered to a solid surface, tempering is typically not necessary. We do, however, recommend tempering any glass shelf within or around a shower or tub area.

Q. Can you install mirror around lights, outlets and switches?

A. Yes, mounting sconces on a mirror adds a very custom look and reflects the beauty of your light fixtures. We require that you have an electrician mount the electrical boxes in the wall prior to us coming to template the area. We can recommend the proper licensed electrician for the job.

We also supply a wide variety of mirrored switch plates and outlet covers.
